Seth "Bandito" Thompson
The bandito is a picture pose created by Kary Via and Seth Thompson, known respectively as Natural Fly and Fat Tire on most fly fishing forums. The pose was created earlier this spring on an albacore trip on the east side of the Cape Lookout Shoals on the coast of North Carolina. It has become an iconic pose known throughout the fly fishing community. The name was given to the pose by a gentleman on the Drake web site known only as Epol. Epol saw a series of pictures posted on the Drake web site and inadvertently named the pose the BANDITO! A Bandit is defined as a armed thief who is usually a member of band. The Bandito is an outlaw, a person living a lifestyle of outlawry. A person who operates from a base in the wilderness or from a boat, and makes periodic raids on loathing aquatic specimens eager to take a fly. fly.
